I work with young and old who have a variety of concerns and challenges, but I focus on addiction. There is no more devastating problem an individual or family faces, that can be changed, than addiction. But it is hard.  They must change everything their thinking, behavior, social life, social circles, routines. They must face their failures and take responsibility for their future, because when they don’t, they lose family, work, friends, social standing, and sometimes, they die.  The impact on loved ones, colleagues, friends, and communities is countless and often leaves people feeling helpless and hopeless.  

My goal is to help every individual or family member who reaches out to me with an addiction concern. Sometimes it’s through individual or group counseling, but sometimes it’s by connecting individuals with other services or support.  A big part of my job is knowing how to get the best help for anyone afflicted with any addiction.  I have spent my whole career connecting and developing resources and referrals so that I can get somebody the right help when they are asking for it, whether it be gambling, sex addiction, eating disorders, rehab, sober living - I can point one in the right direction.

My hope is that after someone speaks with me for the first time I replace hopelessness and helplessness with direction and a ray of hope.

The only reason I am able to do this challenging work is because I am so well supported. The Center cares for me as a professional and as an individual. I am constantly challenged to do my best, but the team provides me with support and training, and a collaborative professional network so that I don’t have to do this alone.

I thank you for reading this and supporting the Center.  Your gift allows us to offer help and hope to people based on need, not finances.  With the scholarship funds my clients have received, I have been able to do my work with people who thought my services were out of reach for them. Many of them have turned their lives around.

The Center tries not to turn people away if at all possible.  We do have lots of successes and we make a huge difference.  I am proud and privileged to be part of this blessed organization.
